Stewards of Lost River Cave plan for the next 25 years
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lost River Cave’s board of directors are implementing a 25-year plan that help enhance the urban habitats over the next two and a half decades.
Some accomplishments of this plan so far are conservation, stewardship, education and community investment.
Four strategies are being used to assist in this effort: Involving the community, establishing sustainable support, expanding existing programs and understanding the member’s needs.
Lost River Cave chief executive officer and executive director Rho Lansden said it’s great to walk into her office every morning knowing that everything the park does impacts the community.
“It’s an amazing sense of satisfaction that you have each and every day knowing that the work you do is going to leave behind a legacy for the future generations,” Lansden said.
The board of directors is committed to creating outdoor space that is beneficial to the mental and physical well being of the public the cave and valley serve, she said.
