Statewide vehicle inspection fees increase on July 15
WARREN COUNTY, Ky.- All over the Commonwealth, law enforcement agencies are getting ready for vehicle inspection fees to increase.
The Department of Transportation is in the process of changing the fees. While the fee is currently $5, beginning on July 15, fees will be $15.
Along with the change in funding, some of the vehicle inspection process will become digital, and the people inspecting the cars will upload the documents instead of doing paperwork.
We sat down with the Warren County sheriff Brett Hightower and learned where they are at in the process.
Hightower says, “We are just waiting right now for the transportation to come down and do this training with us. So, we want to make sure that this is a smooth process for everybody. ”
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is currently in training to prepare for all additional changes that will be implemented on July 15. News 40 will continue to keep you up to date with further details.
