State police say man shoots mother, grandmother

MONTICELLO, Ky. – Kentucky State Police Post 11 is investigating a shooting incident that occured on Saturday.
According to state police, Post 11 was contacted by the Monticello Police Department to assist in investigating a shooting incident at a residence on Winchester Road in Wayne County.
Police say Chase Jackson, 25 of Monticello, was in a verbal exchange with his mother, Audrey Jackson, 50 of Monticello, and grandmother Savana Brock, 94 of Monticello, at the residence. Police believe that during the argument, Chase Jackson discharged a firearm inside the residence, striking his mother and grandmother.
A Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Deputy performed life-saving measures before Wayne County EMS arrived at the scene.
The victims were transported to the Wayne County Airport and airlifted by PHI Air Evac to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital.
Both victims remain in critical shooting.
Police say Chase Jackson was located walking on Highway 90 in Wayne County. Jackson was apprehended by a Wayne County deputy.
Chase Jackson is charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and two counts of Assault 1st. He is lodged at the Wayne County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
