State police investigating fatal Park City shooting

PARK CITY, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a murder in Park City.

According to a uniform citation, KSP Post 3 and the Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence incident on East 3rd Street in Park City on Thursday, just after 9:30 pm.

The incident involved Thomas Orlando, of Glasgow, according to law enforcement.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a female victim dead from an apparent gunshot wound and determined that Orlando had left in an SUV. Two juveniles were at the residence when the shooting occurred.

Orlando was found at a church at 3324 Nobob Road at 12:45 am Friday, and law enforcement says he possessed a firearm that law enforcement believes matches the one used in the fatal shooting.

A third party at the scene told law enforcement Orlando confessed to shooting the female victim.

Orlando was taken into custody by KSP Post 3 and the Barren County Sheriff’s Office and lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.

Orlando is charged with murder (domestic violence) and first-degree wanton endangerment (discharge of a firearm).

The investigation is ongoing.
