State police arrest two Bowling Green people on drug charges near Owensboro

Early Sunday morning a Kentucky State Police trooper stopped a car on the William Natcher Parkway near Owensboro and during the stop, a trooper said he found a large amount of methamphetamine and cocaine, according to a release from KSP. 

Police said the driver Tatiana G. Cruz-Velis, 19, of Bowling Green was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense methamphetamine, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense cocaine, failure to have insurance and careless driving, according to the release.

The trooper also arrested the passenger, Orellana Louis Contreras, 25, of Bowling Green, and charged him with first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense cocaine, identity theft and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

He is accused of having a fake United States Permanent resident card bearing another person’s identity, according to the release.

Both were lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.
