Standoff ends in arrest without incident

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A man was arrested Friday after a standoff lasted several hours.

Just before 8 a.m. Friday, Kentucky State Police was requested by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office to respond and investigate a barricaded male subject at 3041 Highland Lick Rd. in Logan County, said Trooper Daniel Priddy of KSP.

Priddy said deputies attempted to serve a warrant to David Morgan, 43, of Russellville. While approaching the residence, deputies observed Morgan with a firearm.

Morgan entered the residence and refused to come out. KSP Special Response Team was activated and arrived at the residence. Upon verbal commands, Morgan exited the residence and was arrested by the KSP Special Response Team.

Morgan was arrested without incident.

Morgan was given multiple charges, including resisting arrest, first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer) and engaging in organized crime.

Morgan was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
