Spring Rally of the Neighborhoods

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A rally on Thursday evening is focusing on improving the quality of life in Bowling Green.

Spring Rally of the Neighborhoods is a way to unite the different communities in the area.

New this year, the rally will focus on achievements of the County Public Works Department. It’s a continued celebration of National Public Works Week, which took place last week.

The Bowling Green Coalition of Active Neighborhoods (BGCAN) will be networking with community leaders at the rally.

The rally is also a way for BGCAN to become eligible for the City’s Select Neighborhood Action Program (SNAP) grants.

“This is an opportunity for neighborhood groups to come together and apply for funding from the City of Bowling Green to take on a smaller neighborhood project. Maybe it’s a beautification project, or organizing or a capital improvement project,” said Karen Foley, neighborhood services coordinator at City of Bowling Green.

Members of the community were invited to attend the event held in the community room at Neighborhood & Community Services at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
