Sports betting update for south central Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Many in south central Kentucky are wondering when they can join in on the fun of sports betting.

Horse racing tracks throughout the commonwealth are signing on with partner apps, and The Mint Gaming Hall in Corbin has already signed on with DraftKings.

BetMGM, Caesars and FanDuel have also signed partnerships in Kentucky, but The Mint in Bowling Green and Kentucky Downs have yet to announce their app.

While DraftKings will be the partner for the eastern side of the state, The Mint staff are still weighing options for South Central Kentucky.

“We’ll be looking at that in the near future to get a proper race and sportsbook set up. The horse betting still exists inside those buildings. The sports betting in a lounge where you can bet with a teller, that Vegas style, that’s still just a little ways off for those two properties. We’ll have some more announcements soon. In the meantime, it’s mobile betting with DraftKings,” John Wholihan, marketing director for The Mint and Kentucky Downs, says.

Mobile betting officially starts Sept. 28, but you can pre-register on your favorite apps starting Monday, Aug. 28.
