At Double Dogs in Bowling Green, general manager Michael Mays thinks there may be an impact on customers at his restaurant.

“I would say we’d get a few more requests for some lesser known teams, possibly from because of the online gambling. But we’ll see.” Mays said.

Time will ultimately tell if online sports betting is a good thing for Kentucky, with many other states having already legalized the practice within their state lines over the last few years. Some believe that the revenue may be enough for some sort of tax break, people like Derrick Myles.

“I think it’s going to be a great revenue source for the state. I think it hopefully it’ll help cut some taxes for some folks around here. In the past, I used to have friends that would drive to the Tennessee line, have to drive over the line to place their bets on their on their phones. So now you don’t have to do that.” Myles said.
