Southern Kentucky Film Commission shares where you can watch locally made films

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – While some households may be staying in to avoid the cold, they may be getting a little bored, but there are a few solutions thanks to the Southern Kentucky Film Commission.

Several films were made in Barren County over the past few years, including “Guns of Redemption,” “Gunslingers” and a wide variety of other films. They are all available on several streaming platforms, including Netflix and Apple TV.

Watching these films won’t just entertain you; you’d also be supporting the actors and local businesses featured in the film.

Maclean Lessenberry, executive director of Barren County Tourism and SOKY Film Commission, says, “It kind of is a little scavenger hunt. I feel like on the snowy days, to go watch everything and point out what’s where, and you know, if maybe you don’t recognize a business, it doesn’t look how it normally looks, but building that hometown. Pride really conveys to visitors coming in, and it’s the same for filmmakers.”
