Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College hosts GED+ admission fair

BOWLING GREEN Ky.- An admission fair took place at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College on Thursday to highlight the new GED+ program.

GED+ is a new program offered by the college that allows students to enroll in tuition free short-term classes while they pursue a GED.

Attendees had the chance to visit the different departments covered by GED+ including healthcare, business and IT services, advanced manufacturing, and construction.

Those working in the college system said it’s a great opportunity to get a jump start in a career field.

“We’re definitely excited as the staff, program and college to offer this opportunity. It’s not just in the Bowling Green area, it’s in the wider surrounding region that people can jump in and take advantage of this,” said SKYCTC adult education director Brian Becker.

The courses offered in the GED+ program are paid for by the Work Ready Scholarship.
