South Warren teacher wins 2018 Financial Literacy Teacher of the Year

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A South Central Kentucky teacher was honored as the 2018 Financial Literacy Teacher of the Year.

Stephanie Mills, who teaches at South Warren High School, was presented the award by the Kentucky Jumpstart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy on Tuesday.

Mills was given the award due to her ability to incorporate a variety of teaching techniques and curriculum materials to reach students with different learning styles.

Along with the award, Mills was given $300 as a prize for classroom materials or training she may need.

Mills is currently working with the Kentucky Department of Education to develop new standards for financial literacy courses starting in 2020.
