South Warren HS student to serve as state delegate at national conference

FRANKFORT, Ky. – A South Warren High School student is among Kentuckians that will represent the state at an upcoming national conference in Orlando, Florida.

According to a release by the Kentucky Department of Education, 10 Kentucky students selected as delegates will attend the Educators Rising Kentucky 2025 national conference. These students represent aspiring educators from across the state, officials say.

Each year, the KDE says the conference serves as a chance for future educators and teacher leaders to compete, connect and meet. During the conference, officials say delegates will have the opportunity to vote on matters that relate to the organization’s wellness and work to improve members’ experiences.

The following students have been selected to serve as delegates representing the state of Kentucky:

  • Mckinley Heard, lead delegate, South Warren High School (Warren County);
  • Skylar Smith, Ballard High School (Jefferson County);
  • Abby Seavers, Graves County High School;
  • Kaylenn Morganti, Graves County High School;
  • Marley Cobb, Henry County High School;
  • Lily Russell, Ignite Institute (Boone County);
  • Makenzi Downs, Nelson County Schools/Grow Nelson;
  • Jermaine Hayden, Waggener High School (Jefferson County);
  • Jacob Ridener, Whitley County High School; and
  • Garrett Sharp, Whitley County High School.
