BOWLING GREEN Ky.-In response to low labor force participation, the South-Central Workforce Development board is looking for input on how to make a positive change.

The low labor force participation survey is designed to gather feedback from employers and non-profit organizations on why they think labor force participation challenges exist. On the other side of that, participants can also explain how their company or organization has encouraged participation, and what seems to be working to attract and retain talent.

The deadline has been extended through September 2nd due to the amount of participation in taking the survey. South Central Workforce Development Board president and CEO Jon Sowards says it’s uplifting to see so many participating.

“We are seeing fantastic participation and fantastic responses from employers to non-profits. It’s encouraging when you see the amount of thought put into the survey,” Sowards said.

The third annual workforce summit is in October, where this survey will be used to discuss labor force participation rate.
