South Central Kentucky Cultural Center installs mini library

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Mary Wood Wheldon Memorial Library in Glasgow, Ky., isn’t the only place Barren County residents can pick up books for free now.

The South Central Kentucky Cultural Center has joined forces with the Edmund Rogers chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a women’s service organization committed to promoting education, to create a free, mini library located outside of the cultural center’s entrance along West Water Street.

The small box features a variety of books with different genres and authors.

The books are free for anyone to take.

The public is also encouraged to contribute to the collection of books.

The whole purpose of this project is to promote literacy within the community.
