South Central Bank in Glasgow donates money to two veteran-help organizations
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-At a veteran’s breakfast in Glasgow Friday morning, two local organizations that work with active and retired military received check donations.
$5,000 has been awarded to the Veterans Support and Assistance Office of South-Central Kentucky.
Honor Flight Kentucky received $2,500.
The money was donated by South Central Bank in Glasgow, the organizer of the breakfast.
Active and retired military, as well as first responders attended the event, which took place at the bank’s operation’s center.
The bank’s market president explained why they’ve continued to put on this event for the past 13 years.
“We want to commemorate the service that these men and women have provided for our country, so that we can remain free and so that we can still have free choice. Just like we did in our election earlier this week,” said Owen Lambert, Market President at South Central Bank Barren/Metcalfe/Pulaski.
The pre-kindergarten class of red cross elementary closed out the event with the reciting of the pledge of allegiance.
