Somerset Fire Department rescues puppy from culvert

SOMERSET, Ky. – The Somerset Fire Department saved a puppy on New Year’s Eve.

On Tuesday, the department says it responded to the 300 block of Pine Street for an animal complaint.

At the scene, crews say they located a German Shepherd puppy stuck inside a culvert.

Jaws of Life were used to enlarge the culvert’s opening. The puppy exited the culvert on its own.

Crews say the puppy was excited to be free to continue its New Year’s Eve celebration.
