Some Ritz Cracker Sandwiches recalled for allergen risk
(CNN) – Mondelēz Global is voluntarily recalling some of its Ritz Cracker Sandwiches due to the potential presence of an undeclared allergen.
Individually-wrapped packs in cartons with certain best-when-used-by dates may be incorrectly labeled as cheese variety even though they may be a peanut butter variety.
The recall covers the eight-pack, 20-pack and 40-pack cartons of Ritz peanut butter cracker sandwiches.
The 20-pack Ritz-filled cracker sandwich variety pack carton is also included in the recall.
The company says all outer cartons are labeled correctly with an allergen advisory statement that indicates the product “contains peanuts.”
The recall does not cover cartons containing only Ritz cheese cracker sandwiches.
The recall is precautionary. There have been no incidents of injury or illness reported to the company so far.
