SOKY Republicans host Lincoln Day Dinner

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At Highland Stables, the SOKY Republicans hosted a Lincoln Day dinner with elected officials in attendance.

Representatives Michael Meredith & Kevin Jackson, Senator David Givens, city commissioners and more were on hand.

Speakers included Mayor Todd Alcott & Senator Rand Paul.

One of the many things Senator Paul spoke on was Amendment 1, which would simply change the language on ballots regarding non US citizens not being allowed to vote.

Here’s what he had to say on the amendment and how it’s one of many topics that he says Republicans and Democrats are surprisingly unified on.

“One will be amendment one that says that you have to be a citizen of the United States to vote. I think there will be people on the other side of the issue… I don’t think they’ll be Republicans, but I think there will be a no vote on that, believe it or not,” Senator Paul says.

Senator Mike Wilson also spoke during the evening, endorsing all Republican candidates that will be running in this year’s election.
