SoKY Fair makes long-awaited return
The 2018 SOKY Fair has officially opened. The family fun event runs July 23-28 at Lampkin Park.
For the second consecutive year, Miller Spectacular Shows is taking the lead on the fair’s midway.
"Every location has its own uniqueness," said Freddy Miller, the 4th generation owner of Miller Spectacular Shows. "This is just our second year in Bowling Green and they treat us like we’ve been here for 50 years. That’s a great feeling."
Miller says the midway will feature 11 new rides this year.
"Our specialty is entertaining families. We bring equipment here for all ages, from the basic rides to super thrill rides. We bring a package for everybody," said Miller.
In addition to the rides, the fair will once again feature a number of games, 4-H events, a demolition derby, and of course, wonderful food, such as funnel cake, corn dogs and chicken on a stick.
"I’ll say the smells are my favorite part of the fair," said Hunter Holdcraft, the chairman of the SOKY Fair. "You can’t beat fair food. Good smells and good food."
Admission to the SOKY Fair is $12. Gates open each night at 6:00 p.m.
