Smiths Grove man indicted on 11 counts of promoting sexual performance of a minor

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – A Smiths Grove man has been indicted on sexual abuse charges involving a minor.
According to an indictment, an Edmonson County grand jury indicted 36-year-old Tyler Ashton Skaggs of Smiths Grove on 11 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor, victim less than 16 years of age.
The indictment states Skaggs “produced, directed or promoted any performance which includes sexual conduct by a minor, who is less than 16 years of age.”
According to court records, a warrant of arrest on indictment was issued on July 24, with a bond set to $2,500 cash. Jail records state Skaggs was arrested and released from the Hart County Jail on July 25.
Skaggs’ status hearing is scheduled for Aug. 14.
