Small towns encouraging public to support local
MORGANTOWN, Ky. – The recent severe weather we faced in the commonwealth has impacted small businesses leading to the promotion of ‘shop local’ movements .
Flooding & snowfall in the state have set back mom-and-pop diners and family-owned boutiques and more, causing them to close for days or even weeks at a time.
Morgantown/Butler County Chamber Board member and small business owner, Kaitlyn Cardwell says the area is “like a family” and supports one another. Cardwell adds the community “holds pride” in where they live and that “people genuinely care about one another.”
Smiling, Cardwell says, “People here are so loving.” She also credits the chamber and the people of Morgantown are always looking for ways to improve the area.
