SKyPAC offers public sensory friendly room

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Thanks to a donation from Mary E. Vitale, the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center has opened up a new room for those who deal with sensory issues.

SKyPAC has converted a room into a sensory friendly space with different features to help calm individuals who might be experiencing some sensory overload form lights or loud sounds.

Down Syndrome of Southern Kentucky said they commend the efforts of SKyPAC to make room for those on the spectrum and say that spaces like these are important in communities, whether it’s a grocery store or a concert hall.

The room is available any time they have a performance going on.
