SKyPAC hosts Curtains Up for local high school band

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center played host to the Allen County-Scottsville High School band Thursday as part of a program designed to help local schools perform on the big stage.

It was Curtains Up for the Patriot band, as they performed on the main stage at SKyPAC.

The percussion ensemble and jazz band each performed a piece, before the concert band played a few songs.

Through this program, bands from throughout the area not only get a free performance, but free rehearsals as well.

“It’s just fun to know that the arts mean so much to people at such a young age, and we start them out young and we hope they have like a lifelong love for it. I know the families think the world of this, and they love to see their child up on stage. You can’t beat that experience,” Makenzie Belcher of SKyPAC says.

SKyPAC and Arts of Southern Kentucky are excited to provide more opportunities like this to give more bands the chance to see Curtains Up for themselves.
