Students participate in SKYFAME signing day at SKYCTC Franklin – Simpson Center
FRANKLIN, Ky. – They’ve graduated and are now going full time with their sponsoring employer.
Students gathered Wednesday morning to participate in a “Going Pro” signing day at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College’s Franklin-Simpson Center.
With the Southern Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education, local manufactures sponsor students’ education in order to gain well trained employees after graduating the program.
Franklin – Simpson Center Campus director Kelcie Richart said the program is fed by local manufacturers who sponsor students to go to school two days a week and work for them three days a week over the course of five semesters.
Today graduates were happy to sign the dotted line, committing full time employment to Logan Aluminum in Russellville. The reaction to signing day was a happy one, reflective of high school days. Graduates said even though it’s not athletics, it’s still something to celebrate and they are ready to start work and make a livable wage.
