BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College is hosting its second annual Giving Day on April 16.

According to officials, this event rallies support for alumni, local businesses sand the community to support student success.

This year’s Giving Day will raise funds for multiple causes, including the Student Success Fund, food pantry, emergency financial assistance and student scholarships. The goal is to remove barriers that can serve as obstacles for students’ progress.

“SKYCTC Giving Day is a chance for the community and our college family to come together to provide support to those who need a little extra help,” said Heather Rogers, executive director of the SKYCTC Foundation. “We look forward to seeing what can be accomplished collectively.”

Supports can make an impact in students’ lives by donating.

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System will offer matching gifts of up to $4,000 for colleges leading in giving, officials say.

Service One Credit Union will provide a challenge gift of $15,000 when 50 donors contribute to SKYCTC on Giving Day. Additional challenge gifts will also be offered.

“We are so pleased with the level of interest and engagement we’ve already seen with this year’s Giving Day,” Rogers said. “Thanks to generous donors, last year we raised more than $24,000 from 81 donors and achieved 100% participation from our board of directors. We look forward to having even more participation this year.”
