Six honorees to be recognized at 29th annual Bowling Green Trailblazers event

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – To send off Black History Month, members in the Bowling Green community are recognizing leaders and those who are making a difference in the community.

Twenty nine years ago, Abraham Williams wanted to honor African Americans in the Bowling Green community who were trailblazers and making an impact. This year is no different.

A Trailblazers event will have six honorees: Hon. Judge Ralph Bailey for judicial excellence, Dr. Pauletha butts for elementary education, Jessie Vanner for civic service, Lamario Moore for community service and mentorship, Dr. Terrance brown for higher education and Cayden Dunn, a “Trailblazer in the making.”

Chas Rodgers Dunn, chairperson for the Bowling Green Trailblazers, says, “It feels good to be able to present this honor to people within our community. All six of our honorees are very deserving this year. They all work within this bowling green community. They all, play a part to make Bowling Green a better place. “

The host churches include: State Street Baptist Church, Seventh Street Baptist Church, Taylor Chapel AME Church, Powerhouse Ministries, Eleventh Street Baptist Church, Next Level Church and this year’s 29th annual Trailblazers will be on March 1 at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Bowling Green at 4 p.m.
