Sinkhole opens, leaves many without water in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green Municipal Utilities is reporting a sinkhole opening in Bowling Green.
BGMU says a sinkhole is open near 1713 Singletree Way. The water main is collapsed and many customers are experiencing a water outage.
Crews are at the sinkhole working on damage repair.
“Fixing sinkholes is a complicated endeavor,” says Andy Souza, director of Bowling Green Public Works. “Today, our repairs on Single Tree Way were interrupted by a ground collapse that severed a water line. The entire team is working both short and long term repairs. We appreciate citizens avoiding the area until everything is stabilized.”
He says no injuries have been reported at this time.
BGMU says they hope to have water restored to the area as quickly as possible.
