Simpson County Tourism Commission opens new office in downtown Franklin
FRANKLIN, Ky. – Community members and local officials gathered together Thursday morning to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Simpson County Tourism Office in downtown Franklin.
The new office, located at 105 West Cedar St., aims to increase tourism visibility and enhance services for visitors exploring the area.
Amy Ellis, executive director of the Simpson County Tourism Commission, said the new space reflects the county’s growing tourism impact, and the importance of providing a welcoming hub for travelers.
“Our economic impact last year from travelers was $90 million that was spent here,” Ellis said. “We’re a small county, but as Franklin has grown, we’ve seen so many more people in our town. I think when people travel, they like to see what’s in the surrounding area. We’re not a big college town and we’re not Nashville, but we’re right in the middle, and we get a lot of those visitors.”
Popular destinations in Simpson County include Dueling Grounds Distillery and The Mint Gaming Hall, which continue to draw visitors from across Kentucky and beyond.
The new tourism office is now open to the public and ready to welcome travelers looking to learn more about Franklin and the surrounding area.
