Signature Healthcare’s new dog “Buddy” is providing health benefits to residents
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Signature Healthcare in Bowling Green is witnessing the therapeutic benefits of having a dog.
This just a couple of days after adopting him from the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society.
Signature Healthcare is a local nursing home facility that offers long and short term nursing care and rehabilitation therapy.
On Wednesday, they adopted “Buddy” who you may recognize from Wednesday’s Pet of the Day.
Buddy, who suffers from separation anxiety, joins the Signature Healthcare family to bring comfort to the residents.
Quality of Life Director Sue Shepherd says residents with disabilities, anxiety, depression or loneliness receive relief through Buddy.
In the short time Buddy has been with Signature Healthcare, his presence has provided a variety of health benefits.
Buddy is filling big shoes at Signature Healthcare after the staff lost “Sweet Molly.”
“Sweet Molly” was the previous dog who passed away from cancer last September.
