Bowling Green health care residents treated to Derby celebration

BOWLING GREEN Ky.- Residents of Signature HealthCARE of Bowling Green had a Derby celebration of their own today.

The residents had their days brightened as they donned their Derby hats and watched the staff gallop back and forth through the halls on stick horses. This event has taken place for the last five years.

The goal is to give the residents a chance for some Derby fun all from the comfort of the facility, in addition to giving the staff an opportunity to impact the lives of the residents.

Signature HealthCARE Quality of Life Director, Sue Shepherd, says there’s no feeling like seeing the smiling faces of the staff and residents.

“The residents love it because they’re seeing the staff be silly, laughing, and carrying on. It makes them happy, and that makes me happy,” said Shepherd.
