Sheriff’s office recovers more than $4,000 in stolen goods

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office recovered more than $4,000 in stolen construction tools Tuesday.

Friday, the tools were reported stolen from inside of a 14-foot cargo trailer that had been parked in the Autumn Grove Subdivision, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

The trailer and its contents were stolen from the subdivision. Some of the stolen items were listed for sale on social media. With the help of Allen County Sheriff’s Office, some items were located from the social media posting.

Warren County Deputies responded to 903 Wren Road Tuesday where they spoke to Daniel West and James Smith who were in the garage, according to the release. Deputies saw some stolen property in plain sight. A search of the property resulted in the recovery of $4,000 worth of tools.

West, 29, and Smith, 46, both of Bowling Green were charged with receiving stolen property valued at $500 or more but less than $10,000. Both are lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.

Warren District Judge Sam Potter set bonds for both men at $2,500.
