Several arrests result from Bowling Green traffic checkpoints

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Multiple arrests stemmed from weekend safety traffic checkpoints conducted by the Bowling Green Police Department.

According to police, 214 vehicles passed through the checkpoints from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday.

The checkpoints were initiated in the 800 block of Lovers Lane.

Police say during this time, three people were charged with driving under the influence, one person was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, one other person was charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and one warrant was served.

Thirteen traffic citations were issued during the event, authorities say.
