Service One Credit Union donates teddy bears to help abuse survivors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Service One Credit Union announced Tuesday that it has donated 400 teddy bears to Phoenix Rising, an organization that supports survivors of human trafficking and exploitation.
According to a release by Service One, The teddy bears will be included in Care Kits distributed by Phoenix Rising. These kits provide essential items and comfort to survivors.
“We are committed to supporting the well-being of our community,” said Paul Buhrmester, chair of the Sharing & Caring committee at SOCU. “Phoenix Rising does critical work in helping survivors heal and rebuild their lives. We believe these teddy bears will offer a small token of comfort during a difficult time.”
Service One is also encouraging others to support Phoenix Rising.
The release says the average age of trafficked individuals is 12 years old, while the average life expectancy of trafficking victims is 7 years old.
