Senator Rand Paul honors Bowling Green Police officer Matt Davis
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Rand Paul visited Bowling Green Monday morning honoring a police officer for his incredible resiliency in the face of adversity.
At the Bowling Green police headquarters a large crowd, including senator Rand Paul gathered to honor BGPD officer Matt Davis for overcoming incredible odds. On July 6th in 2023 Officer Davis was shot multiple times while approaching a subject at the Carmart on Russellville road. Davis survived, and recovered as the Bowling Green community rallied around him.
Senator Paul said that supporting our law enforcement is very important and this is just one way he and the senate can do so.
“I think the police deserve our respect, and particularly a police officer who just about gave his life really deserves to be honored. So we put his story into the Congressional record and it will be there for all time” Senator Paul said.
Officer Davis said his family is what got him through his toughest times and said he is thankful for the community to support him the way they did.
