Sen. Rand Paul addresses 9/11 funding and Iran tensions

GLASGOW, KY.- While in Glasgow today for a ribbon-cutting, Sen. Rand Paul addressed the controversy surrounding his decision not to back a 9/11 funding bill. He also spoke about taking over negotiations with Iran to help reduce tensions.

Senator Paul has received harsh criticism for his decision last week to block the 9/11 victim compensation fund.

He’s now defending his decision, saying that the country’s growing debt issue is giving him reason for pause.

This week, the senator plans to propose changes to the bill pulling funding from elsewhere.

The Senate is expected to pass the bill on Aug. 2 before leaving for their summer recess.

The Sen. also addressed his plans to deescalate growing tensions with Iran and avoid military action.
