Semi-truck strikes church in Barren County
GLASGOW, Ky.- A semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries after he struck the front of a church early Tuesday morning in Barren County.
According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at the Refuge Church of Christ on Burkesville Rd. around 5:30 a.m.
Investigators believe the driver of the truck, Paul Chaplin, 59, of Monticello, fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to travel off the roadway. The vehicle continued off road before striking the front porch of the congregation.
Chaplin did not sustain any major injuries and was treated on scene.
