Search warrant leads to arrest of 2 on drug charges

TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Two men are facing drug charges after a search warrant was executed at a Tompkinsville home.

On Wednesday evening, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police conducted a search warrant at the home of Danny Lee Sheffield at 2057 Sulphur Lick Road in Tompkinsville.

Law enforcement says approximately 12 grams of methamphetamine, baggies, meth pipes, scales, narcotic pills, marijuana, three handguns, and $26,640 were located during the search.

Sheffield was arrested and is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance(methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance third-degree drug unspecified, drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

Christopher Deweese, of Metcalfe County, was arrested and is charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Both were lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
