Scottsville woman charged with arson and possession of methamphetamine

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. — Around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the Scottsville Police Department, Allen County Fire Departments, Bowling Green Fire Department Canine and other emergency responders were dispatched to a structure fire on Veterans Memorial Highway.

According to a media release from the Scottsville Police Department, fire investigator, Officer John Williams gathered information about a potential arson.

According to the release, witnesses saw a vehicle leave the scene just prior to the fire. Through the investigation, officers arrested Christy Beth Jones, 34, of Scottsville.

According to the release, Jones was in possession of a stolen vehicle, a firearm and illegal drugs. Jones is charged with first-degree arson, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief. She is also charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and persistent felony offender.
