Scottsville Police K9 receives body armor donation

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky.- The Scottsville Police Department’s K9 is now better equipped to protect and serve.

K9 Morgan received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from the non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

The vest is sponsored by Elaine Miller of Lillington, North Carolina.

Since it was established in 2009, Vested Interest in K9s has provided over 3,500 custom fitted vests to police dogs in all 50 states.

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950. The vests are valued between $1700 and $2300.
