New transit bus in Scottsville begins service

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky.-There’s a new way to get around in Scottsville and it’s one, if not the only, mode of public transportation in the city. Monday passengers took their first ride on the low-fare transit bus.

Passengers pay with small tokens when they board the bus. Traveling round trip only costs them $1.

The City of Scottsville acquired a grant, allowing the city to purchase a 12 by 2 bus. It seats 12 passengers and has two wheelchair spots.

The bus route is about an hour long, stopping at 23 locations. It starts at the Landmark Apartments, travels downtown and ends at Edmonton State Bank.

The bus operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Service is not provided on weekends at this time. Tokens to ride are available for purchase at City Hall.
