Scottsville man named Food Lion’s 2024 Store Manager of the Year

SALISBURY, NC – A Scottsville store manager is being recognized regionally for efforts in the community.
Toby Pentecost, of Scottsville, is the 2024 Store Manager of the Year for Food Lion’s Central Division.
The company says the award highlights Pentecost’s leadership and commitment to the Scottsville community.
Pentecost is one of five store managers selected from 1,100 store managers for the honor.
“Earning Central Division Store Manager of the Year was never something I even considered possible,” shared Pentecost. “It always seemed like something you see that happens to someone else. It is an amazing honor because I know the caliber of Store Managers we have in the Central Division.”
Food Lion’s Central Division features nearly 300 stores across Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Pentecost has been an employee of Food Lion since 1999.
Food Lion donated 5,000 meals to Scottsville Church of Christ to recognize Pentecost’s accomplishments.
The Scottsville Food Lion participates in the company’s food rescue program that donates unsaleable edible food to local feeding agencies.
“Building that bond with the community and knowing that they can depend on us when they have a need is what’s most important,” stated Pentecost.
