Scottsville man found passed out on sidewalk charged with drug possession

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is facing drug charges.

The Scottsville Police Department responded to a call to 500 West Main Street to an unresponsive man on Sunday.

According to a citation, officers located Michael L. Stephens, 40 of Scottsville, passed out on the sidewalk.

Officers were able to wake Stephens up. Stephens told officers he had not taken anything and told EMS he did not need further attention.

Officers say that Stephens’ speech was slurred and detected an odor of alcohol from his breath.

Stephens agreed to a search. Officers say they located illegal narcotics, marijuana, and items consistent with drug paraphernalia.

Stephens is charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, possession of marijuana, and alcoholic intoxication in a public place.

Stephens was lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
