Scottsville man charged with assault, burglary after alleged altercation

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is facing charges after police say an altercation took place between a woman and who she claims to be her landlord.
Police say they received a 911 call at about noon Wednesday from a female subject screaming for help. Scottsville Police Department detectives arrived at the scene at the 500 block of North Third Street, where a white truck had left the scene.
Police say during an interview with the female subject, she stated her landlord, Michael, E. Meador, 61, of Scottsville, had “entered her apartment without her permission.”
According to police, she had arrived home before an altercation took place between her and Meador. Both people had injuries and were treated by Allen County EMS and later transported to The Medical Center at Scottsville for evaluation.
Meador was taken to the Allen County Detention Center and was released Thursday.
He faces charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree assault (minor injury).
