Scottsville man arrested after hitting tree on downtown square

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is facing charges after police say he struck a tree on the downtown square early Thursday morning.

At around 1:15 a.m., the Scottsville Police Department says officers observed a Kia driven by 29-year-old Felix Lopez of Scottsville heading north on South Court Street toward the Scottsville public square.

Police say as the vehicle approached a crosswalk, Lopez lost control and entered the opposite lane before hitting a tree.

No injuries were reported.

Lopez was arrested and charged with no operators license, failure to maintain insurance, failure to register/transfer motor vehicle, second-degree criminal mischief and no registration receipt.

Scottsville police were assisted by Allen County EMS, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the Scottsville Fire Department.
