SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man abandoned his vehicle following a crash and is facing several charges.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to an abandoned vehicle at the intersection of Old Franklin Road and Horseshoe Bend Road on Saturday.

Deputies say the vehicle was in a collision and was left in the roadway.

During the investigation, deputies determined the owner of the vehicle is Shaun Williams, 45 of Scottsville.

Deputies say they found multiple alcohol containers in and outside the vehicle at the scene, as well as a cellphone.

Sheriff’s  office deputies then went to Williams’ home on Shores Road and were invited inside.

They say they then located Williams lying in bed with injuries to the chin and neck. A deputy says Williams had a strong smell of alcohol. Deputies say Williams said he had consumed a lot of alcohol. Williams denied being in a collision, according to authorities.

While a deputy was speaking to other individuals at the scene outside the residence, Williams left the residence and began shouting at deputies. Williams was asked to return inside the residence and complied, deputies say.

Deputies say Williams exited the residence again and continued shouting at deputies. A deputy restrained Williams. Deputies say Williams resisted arrest and a short altercation took place.

Deputies apprehended Williams and transported him to the Allen County Detention Center.

Williams is charged with no registration plates, failure of owner to maintain required ins/sec, 1st off, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, leaving scene of accident-failure to render aid or assistance, menacing, disorderly conduct, 2nd degree, resisting arrest, and alcohol intoxication in a public place (1st & 2nd offense).
