School systems across the District 3 area begin to start back this week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Some school districts across the area are starting back this week, with the remainder beginning over the upcoming weeks.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 is making drivers aware that school buses will be back on the roadways, along with traffic increasing around schools.

Transportation officials also want the public to keep in mind that pedestrian traffic will increase.

School buses will be out early in the morning and in the late afternoon, Drivers are advised to use caution in hard-to-see areas, such as hills and curves. Drivers should not pass a school bus while it is loading or unloading.

Traffic near school buses is also expected to increase.

Transportation officials say this could cause travel delays. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead in the case that this may occur daily.

Finally, drivers are reminded to have increased awareness as pedestrians walk the area and cross the street.
