School districts use non-traditional instruction to keep students learning at home
GLASGOW Ky.- School districts are taking extra measures to make sure students aren’t missing out on valuable lesson plans.
The Barren County School District specifically uses a program called, Ilearn@home.
It’s an online portal that allows teachers to provide lessons through an online format.
Non traditional instruction or NTI refers to any type of class work or teaching that’s done in ways other than the typical classroom setting.
“We feel like our program has prepared our students and staff to work well from home in different situations that they may encounter. Our staff has really worked hard to materials planned and prepared for students to learn from home,” said Barren County School District director of instruction Scott Harper.
The Ilearn@home program counts as a full school day, meaning students will not have to make up days missed.
