Scammers targeting Warren RECC customers

The Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation (RECC) is warning its customers of a phone scam.

According to a news release, there have been several reports from customers who have received phone calls threatening disconnection of their electric service. The caller gives customers a 1-800 number to call to make their payment.  

Warren RECC employees will never contact customers requesting payment over the phone.

If you receive such a call, do not call the 1-800 number or give out any personal or financial information. 

Anyone who receives one of these calls is asked to report the call to a local law enforcement agency or any Warren RECC office.
