Sarver officially welcomed back to Housing Authority Board
Bowling Green’s city commission officially welcomed Hilda Sarver back to the board of the Housing Authority of Bowling Green Monday night.
Just a few weeks ago, the commission voted to oust her from her position but then had a change of heart two days later. The reversal came after public outcry and accusations of retaliation against Sarver.
Prior to Monday afternoon’s meeting, WNKY asked Mayor Bruce Wilkerson if, in retrospect, he would have handled the situation differently.
"You always want everybody to be in-sync with how things go," said Wilkerson. "It has no reflection on Ms. Sarver or the lady who stepped aside so she could continue. We are just looking for good board members, and this was an opportunity and Ms. Sarver agreed to come back."
The city commission also discussed fire department funding and held a public hearing on the Municipal Aid Program at Monday’s meeting.
